State Vaccination Officer Dr. Balwinder Kaur visited District Vaccine Store Rupnagar to review the vaccination program in the district.

On this occasion, he thoroughly checked the maintenance of vaccines and medicines in the vaccine store. He checked the record of the vaccine related registers in the store and the online record related to the vaccine and said that all the columns of the vaccine related registers should be ensured to be filled. ILRs and freezers in which vaccines are stored should be properly maintained and kept clean.

He said that it is very important to keep the vaccine at the specified temperature, and if any vaccine comes to a temperature higher or lower than the specified temperature, then it should be discarded to ensure the safety of the mother and child.
After that, he also visited the PP unit of the Civil Hospital and Dr. Had a meeting with Navrup Kaur and his staff regarding the vaccination program and gave necessary instructions.

Dr. Balwinder Kaur said that a special vaccination week is being started from February 12 to February 17 with the order of the health department to ensure the health safety of children aged 0 to 5 years. Under this campaign, special attention will be focused on special migrant population. Every effort will be made to complete the immunization of children between 0 to 5 years of age in high risk areas whose vaccination is incomplete during this special week.

100% coverage of MMR1 and MMR2 will be ensured to achieve the target of complete elimination of measles and rubella. Two doses of measles and rubella is the only way to prevent these diseases.

He said that all the preparations related to the special vaccination week should be completed and District Immunization Officer Dr Navrup Kaur said that the program will include a head count survey of children aged 0-5 years (slums, kilns, slums, Gujjar camps, constructions). sites and non-users etc.) are being prepared by conducting microplans.
