Male 28 June 2024 Punjab Khabarnama : Maldives police have arrested two ministers on charges of performing black magic on President Mohamed Muizzu, local media reported on Thursday. The
arrested persons include Shamnaz Saleem, Minister of State in the Environment Ministry, Adam Rameez, Shamnaz’s ex-husband and a minister in the President’s Office, along with two others, local media quoted police as saying. However, police refused to share any details about the reasons or the alleged performance of the black magic.
“Shamnaz was arrested on Sunday along with two other persons. The three have been remanded to custody for seven days. They were suspended from their posts on Wednesday, according to the Environment Ministry,” news portal Sun.mv reported.
Adam Rameez was also suspended on Thursday. Incidentally, both Shamnaz and Rameez have worked with President Muizzu as members of the Male City Council when he was serving as the city’s mayor.
