June 12 (Punjab Khabarnama) : A body was found hanging from the pillar of the shed in Maqsudan Sabzi Mandi causing panic. When people saw the body, they informed the police, after which ACP who was doing night duty. Traffic and police station number 8 reached the spot and took down the body. The investigation revealed that the deceased used to work as a laborer in the market.
Rajinder Singh, Additional SHO of Police Station No. 1, said that the cause of suicide is a disease related to the person’s body. He said that the police investigation revealed that he was suffering from itching on his body and due to financial constraints, he was not able to get his treatment. Because of this, he committed suicide by hanging himself from a pole.
The age of the deceased is said to be around 54 years. The police reached the spot and kept the body in the civil hospital mortuary for 72 hours. This shed is present behind Maqsood Mandi, which also leads towards Nagra village. No identity card of any kind was recovered from the deceased and neither was his mobile phone found. ASI of police station number 1 reached the spot. Shyam Ji Lal says that at present efforts are being made to identify the deceased by going to nearby areas.
