June 11 (Punjab Khabarnama) : Reliance Power has repaid all outstanding debt to lenders and has now become a debt-free company on a standalone basis. Sources gave this information. According to sources, the company had an outstanding debt of about Rs 800 crore, which has been repaid to the banks. Reliance Power signed several debt settlement agreements with various banks including IDBI Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank and DBS between December 2023 and March 2024.

Repaid the entire debt of the banks

Sources said that the company has now repaid the entire debt of these banks. In December 2023, Reliance Power sold the development rights of a proposed 1,200 MW hydropower project in Arunachal Pradesh to THDC for Rs 128 crore. In March 2024, the company sold its 45 MW wind power project at Washpet in Maharashtra to JSW Renewable Energy for Rs 132 crore. The company has used the amount received from the sale of these projects to repay its debt.

Operating capacity of 5900 MW

Reliance Power has a share base of Rs 4,016 crore with participation from over 38 lakh retail investors. Reliance Power has an operating capacity of 5900 MW, which includes the 3960 MW Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP) and the 1200 MW Rosa thermal power plant in Uttar Pradesh. Sasan UMPP is one of the world’s largest integrated coal-based power plants.

Reliance Power share closed with a gain on Monday. The company’s stock closed at Rs 26.07, up 4.28 per cent or Rs 1.07. The 52-week high of this stock is Rs 34.35. At the same time, the 52-week low is Rs 13.80. The company’s market cap was Rs 10,472 crore on Monday.
