June 6 (Punjab Khabarnama) : A case of suicide by swallowing poison has come to light in which a young man living in Sunny Enclave committed suicide. At the time of this incident, other members of the family were in another room. The deceased youth’s father Jaspal Singh is originally from Dashmesh Nagar, Jalalabad (Fazilka). He told that he has 2 sons and a daughter. On June 2, Mohit (25) came home at night like every day and went to sleep after eating dinner. At around 3 am, he went to the bathroom. When the family members woke up, they saw that the bathroom door was locked from inside. When they looked through the window, Mohit was lying on the ground. After this, when they broke the door and entered the bathroom, they found that he had swallowed some poisonous substance.
He was immediately taken to the hospital from where he was referred to PGI. He died during treatment. During this time, the deceased’s brother Rohit saw Mohit’s Instagram profile and he had uploaded a status on June 3 at around 3 am. In this, Mohit had told that he had committed suicide after being fed up with his friends Shivam Dhamija, Shiraz Girdhar and their friend Rahul Verma. According to the family, the friends had transferred about 90 thousand 15 days ago to an unknown person’s account in the name of investment through another Mohit. The said person was not picking up the phone now, due to which the three accused were harassing his brother for the return of the money for the last 5 days and were threatening him. The police has handed over the body to the family after conducting the post-mortem. The deceased was cremated by the family in Jalalabad.
Case on 3 including 2 friends, search continues
According to investigating officer Rajinder Singh, Mohit was preparing to go to Singapore on work permit. He had applied a few days ago. Earlier he used to drive a cab. Sunny Enclave police has registered a case under section 306 and 120B against the three accused Shiraj Girdhar, Rahul Verma and Shivam Dhamija, residents of Jalalabad. It has been learned that one accused has fled to Australia while raids are being conducted in search of other accused.
