June 5 (Punjab Khabarnama) : The results of the Lok Sabha elections held across the country including Punjab have been declared yesterday. In Punjab, the Congress party has won 7 out of 13 seats. At the same time, Aam Aadmi Party has won 3, Shiromani Akali Dal has won one and independent candidates have won 2 seats. MPs from 13 seats of Punjab

  1. Ludhiana – Congress party candidate Amarinder Singh Raja Warring has been elected MP in Ludhiana. Born 46 years old, Raja Warring has movable and immovable assets worth Rs 15.11 crore. Raja Warring was the head of Youth Congress between 2014-18. He was MLA thrice from Gidderbaha seat of Sri Muktsar Sahib between 2012 and 2022. Warring was made the Punjab head after Navjot Sidhu was removed from the post of Punjab Congress President. The Congress party had fielded Raja Warring to defeat Ravneet Bittu.
  2. Gurdaspur- Congress party also held Gurdaspur. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa won from this seat. 65-year-old Sukhjinder Randhawa has movable and immovable assets worth Rs 5.11 crore. Santokh Singh was the head of Punjab Congress twice. He won from Fatehgarh Churian in 2022 and Dera Baba Nanak in 2012. At the same time, in 2019, he was elected Deputy CM of Punjab and has been elected MP from Gurdaspur seat.
  3. Jalandhar – Congress party has also won Jalandhar. Charanjit Singh Channi has been elected MP from here. 58-year-old Channi has movable and immovable assets worth Rs 9.45 crore. Charanjit Channi was elected Chairman of Kharar Council in 2002. He reached the Assembly in 2007 and was elected Leader of Opposition in 2015-2016. In 2017, he became MLA for the third time in Chamkaur Sahib. In 2021, Captain Amarinder Singh resigned from the post of CM and Charanjit Channi was appointed as the Punjab CM.   4. Ferozepur- Congress party has also won from Ferozepur seat. Sher Singh Ghubaya has been elected MP from this seat. 56-year-old Sher Singh Ghubaya has movable and immovable assets worth Rs 8.58 crore. Ghubaya was an MP from Akali Dal in 2009 and 2014. In 2019, Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal himself contested from Ferozepur seat. Dissatisfied with the party, Sher Singh Ghubaya joined the Congress party in 2019. After this, he contested on behalf of the Congress party in 2019 from where he lost. But this time he defeated the Akali Dal and got Congress a big victory.
  5. Patiala- Congress candidate Dr. Dharamvir Gandhi has been elected MP from Patiala seat. 73-year-old Gandhi has movable and immovable assets worth Rs 8.53 crore. Dharamvir Gandhi joined the Aam Aadmi Party in 2013. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, he defeated Preneet Kaur. After this, in 2016, he left the Aam Aadmi Party and formed his own party. After this, in 2024, Dharamvir Gandhi joined the Congress party and won the Patiala seat.
  6. Amritsar- Congress party has also won from Amritsar seat. Gurjit Aujla, who has been an MP from this seat twice, has won for the third time. 51-year-old Gurjit Aujla has movable and immovable assets worth Rs 4.16 crore. Aujla started his political journey as a councillor. As soon as Captain Amarinder Singh became the Punjab CM in 2017, he left the Amritsar seat, which proved to be a turning point for Gurjit Aujla. He won the second election in 2019 by defeating Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. In 2024 also Gurjit Aujla was elected MP from Amritsar seat. In 2017, he contested the assembly elections from Raikot in which he lost. After this, in 2019, he contested from Fatehgarh Sahib seat in which he won.   8. Khadoor Sahib – Amritpal Pal Singh, who is in jail from Khadoor Sahib, has become an MP by winning. 31-year-old Amrit Pal has movable and immovable assets worth Rs 1000. Amritpal, who contested the Lok Sabha elections as an independent candidate, stayed abroad from 2012 to 2022. After returning from abroad, he was declared the head of Waris Punjab. After this, after the imposition of NSA, he is lodged in Dibrugarh jail in Assam along with 9 companions. Amritpal contested the Lok Sabha elections from jail and won. In 2004, Sarabjit contested the first Lok Sabha election from Bathinda. After this, in 2007, he contested the assembly elections from Bhadrod seat of Barnala. On his third attempt, Sarabjit Singh Khalsa won from Faridkot. Let us tell you that Sarabjit Singh Khalsa is the son of Beant Singh, who fired bullets at former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
  10. Hoshiarpur- Hoshiarpur seat has also come in the bag of Aam Aadmi Party. Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal has won this seat. 52-year-old Raj Kumar Chabbewal has movable and immovable assets worth 20.72 crores. He contested for the first time on a Congress ticket in 2017 and became MLA from Hoshiarpur. Won again on a Congress ticket in 2022. After this, the Congress party entrusted him with the responsibility as the Deputy Leader of Opposition in the Assembly. In 2024, he left the Congress party and contested on the ticket of Aam Aadmi Party.   11. Anandpur Sahib- Aam Aadmi Party has won from Anandpur Sahib. Malvinder Singh Kang has been elected MP from this seat. 45-year-old Malvinder Singh Kang has movable and immovable assets worth Rs 4.39 crore. Malvinder Singh Kang, a resident of Madhya Pradesh, has been living in Punjab for 27 years. Aam Aadmi Party had appointed Kang as the in-charge of Anandpur Sahib constituency 2 years ago and he is also a good spokesperson of the party.
  12. Sangrur- Aam Aadmi Party has won from Sangrur seat. Cabinet Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer contested from this seat and won. 32-year-old Meet Hayer has movable and immovable assets worth Rs 44.06 lakh. Gurmeet Meet Hayer became MLA for the first time in 2017 on an Aam Aadmi Party ticket. In 2022, he was elected MLA for the second time from this seat.   13. Bathinda- Akali Dal has been able to win only from Bathinda. Harsimrat Kaur Badal has been elected MP for the fourth time by winning this seat. 52-year-old Harsimrat Kaur Badal has movable and immovable assets worth Rs 217 crore. Harsimrat Kaur Badal is the daughter-in-law of the Badal family and the daughter of the Majithia family. She became MP for the first time from Bathinda in 2009. She was also elected MP in 2014 and 2019.
