May 24 (Punjab Khabarnama) : The scorching heat in Punjab is proving fatal and precious lives are becoming precious due to the heat wave. The temperature in Punjab has currently crossed 46 degrees and it is becoming difficult to bear the heat. At the same time, the temperature in Punjab will cross 47 degrees in the coming days. Especially elderly people are becoming victims of heat wave.
During the last 2 days, 2 people had died due to heat while today 2 more people have died due to heat. Due to this, the death toll due to heat in Punjab has increased to 4 within 3 days. Today, a person who died due to heat wave died in Civil Hospital, Jalandhar. Punjab Police constable Lalit Kumar, posted at the city railway station, saw a 60-65 year old sadhu in an unconscious state on Wednesday night.
Due to this, the injured was admitted to Jalandhar Civil Hospital through 108 ambulance. GRP for further action. K ASI Heera Singh reached Civil Hospital to take Sadhu’s statement but the doctors declared him unfit and his statement could not be taken. Today it came to light that the said monk has died. Apart from this, SDM died due to scorching heat during election duty in Khanna. Gurdeep Singh (44), resident of village Jandiali (Ludhiana), posted in the office, died.
