May 23 (Punjab Khabarnama) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a rally in Patiala on Thursday as part of his two-day election tour in Punjab. P.M. Modi will reach the Polo Ground of Patiala at 4.30 pm, which has been sealed from all sides. Even the roads leading to the Polo Ground have been barricaded and forces have been deployed. At the same time, the central security agencies have kept Punjab on high alert till PM Modi’s rally, so that the intelligence agencies have been alerted to prevent any kind of security lapse. Next day on Friday, his rallies are to be held in Gurdaspur and Jalandhar.

Force deployed everywhere in half Patiala
Along with Polo Ground, Y.P.S. Security at the stadium where the Prime Minister’s helicopter will land and New Moti Mahal has also been increased. Police from four districts of Punjab have been deployed for the security of the Prime Minister. Apart from this, a large number of para military forces have been deployed. Police and para military forces have taken charge of their respective fronts and in the evening D.I.G. Harcharan Singh Bhullar and SSP. Security related rehearsal was also conducted under the leadership of Varun Sharma. BJP Punjab President Sunil Jakhar specially arrived to inspect the rally site during the day. By evening, the security forces took control of the entire rally site and forces were deployed all around the rally site. Today the security arrangements regarding the rally were made so strict that forces have been deployed at every nook and corner in almost half of Patiala. Not only this, the arrangements like fire safety system, ambulance, traffic routes etc. are being reviewed and security arrangements are being repeatedly scrutinized by the head of each security squad. Apart from this, every place is being checked by special squads of dog squad so that no untoward incident happens.

  • Parking and route diversion plan will remain completely closed inside the heavy traffic city on 23rd May during the rally of the Prime Minister of India. Similarly, heavy traffic coming from Sangrur side will not enter through the bike pass. Heavy traffic coming from opposite side will not enter through Pasiana.
  • Heavy traffic coming from Main side will not enter through the bike pass. Heavy traffic coming from Dakala side will not enter through the bypass. Heavy traffic coming from Devigarh side will not enter beyond Nanaksar Gurdwara Sahib. Heavy traffic coming from Nabha side will not move towards inner city beyond Dhablan.
  • Heavy traffic coming from Bhadson side will go from Seuna Chowk to Sirhind Road, traffic coming from Sirhind side will go from outside the city through bypass, heavy traffic from the new bus stand will not come towards the city, from Lakkar Mandi (Old Chungi). Heavy traffic will not come towards the city, heavy traffic from T-Point Gurdwara Dukh Nivaran Sahib will not come towards the city.

Rally vehicles

  • Vehicles coming from Rajpura side will go to the parking lot from New Bus Stand to Old Bus Stand, from Khanda Chowk via Lower Mall Road via Fawwara Chowk, people will get down at the rally place, vehicles coming from Sangrur and Samana Wali side will go to the army area. Via Thikriwala Chowk via Lower Mall Road via Fawwara Chowk, people will get down at the rally venue and will go to the parking lot further.
  • Vehicles coming from Sirhind side will go to the parking lot from Khanda Chowk via Lower Mall Road via Favwara Chowk, vehicles coming from Nabha side will go to the parking lot from Dhablan side via Sangrur Road, Army Army Area, Thikriwala Chowk. , from Fountain Chowk, Loire Mall Road, people will get down at the rally venue and go to the parking lot ahead.

Parking space

Traffic will run one-way till Phool Cinema, Malwa Cinema, Modi and Mahendra College, Gurudwara Motibagh.
