Chandigarh, May 15– Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCSHAU), Hisar has started the admission process for various undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The application process will continue till June 10, 2024.
Sharing information in this regard a University Spokesperson said that admission to undergraduate courses will be based on entrance tests. For the 2+4 year B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture program, admission will be based on the Agriculture Aptitude Test after the 10th class. For the four-year programs, including B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, BFSc (Bachelor of Fisheries Science), B.Sc. (Hons.) Community Science, and B.Sc. (Hons.) Agribusiness Management, admission will be based on an entrance test after the 12th class. Admission to B.Tech (Agricultural Engineering) and B.Tech (Agricultural Engineering LEET) will be based on merit in the Joint Entrance Test (Mains) 2024 and LEET 2024 conducted by the Haryana State Counselling Society(HSCS).
He further said that admission to postgraduate courses in various colleges of the university will also be based on a common entrance test. These courses include Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension Education, Agri.meteorology, Agronomy, Fruit Science/Floriculture and Landscaping, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Nematology, Plant Pathology, Plant Protection-Entomology, Seed Science and Technology, Silviculture and Agroforestry, Soil Science and Vegetable Science in the College of Agriculture.
Bio-Chemistry, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Food Science and Technology, Mathematics, Microbiology, Physics, Plant Physiology, Sociology, Statistics, and Zoology are included in the College of Basic and Humanities. Apparel and Textile Science, Extension Education and Communication Management, Food and Nutrition, Human Development and Family Studies, and Resource Management and Consumer Science are included in the College of Community Science. Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, Soil and Water Conservation Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, and Processing and Food Engineering are included in the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology. Agricultural Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, and Molecular Biology and Biotechnology are included in the College of Biotechnology, while students can seek admission to PhD courses in Bioinformatics and Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. College of Fisheries Science offers courses in Aquaculture, Aquatic Animal Health Management, Fish Processing Technology, Fisheries Resource Management, Aquatic Environment Management, Fish Engineering, Fisheries Extension, and Fisheries Economics.
The spokesperson stated apart from the CSIR-UGC-JRF and ICAR students, PhD admissions will take place in the second semester (2024-25). Similarly, MBA Agri-Business, MBA General, and Masters in Rural Management are included in the Institute of Business Management and Agripreneurship, Gurugram. MBA General and MBA Agri-Business courses are included in the Department of Business Management, College of Agriculture, Hisar.
The spokesperson further informed that the PG Diploma programs also include Communication Skills in English, English-Hindi Translation, Remote Sensing and Geographical Information System (GIS) Applications in Agriculture and Environment courses. He said that it is mandatory for the candidates applying for the above courses to be permanent residents of Haryana state. The online application form and prospectus are available on the university website. The application fee for general category candidates is Rs. 1500, while for SC, BC, economically weaker sections, and PWD (Divyang) candidates, it is Rs. 375.
