Chief Minister The Punjab government led by Bhagwant Singh Mann is fully committed to raise the standard of sports in the state so that the state’s glory can be restored at the global level. Ferozepur district has a great contribution in the sports of the country. It is a matter of great pride that Ferozepur Harmik Singh , Ajit Singh , Gagan in the hockey game Ajit Singh , Gurbir Sandhu in shooting , Manavjit Sandhu , Ranjan Sodhi and Manjit Singh in rowing have given great players to the country. These words were expressed by the Minister of Sports and Youth Services Mr. Gurmeet Singh Meet Hare on the occasion of launching the exclusive scheme ‘ Super Hundred ( 100)’ at Ferozepur on the occasion of Republic Day.
On the occasion of starting this scheme, Mr. Meet Hare said that under this Super Hundred ( 100) players have been selected from the district which has illuminated the name of the district at the state level . He said that this scheme has been launched for the complete and all-round development of the players who have earned fame at the state level due to hard work . The whole arrangement of their diet is done by the district administration CSR. will be done through activities. An agreement has been signed with Maharaja Bhupinder Singh Sports University, Patiala to provide international level training through sports science and biomechanics methods for the complete and multifaceted development of the players ; Through which the players will be given international level training with advanced technology. He also said that in case the players get injured during the game, they will be treated at private hospitals for their best treatment. Apart from this, complete sports kits will also be provided to the players under the Super 100 scheme.
Mr. Meet Hare said that under the new sports policy, where cash prizes are being given to the players, cash is also being given for the preparation of sports competitions.
On this occasion, the Super- 100 sportsmen of the district were also honored by the Sports Minister .
Deputy Commissioner Mr. Rajesh Dhiman said on this occasion that under the Super Hundred ( 100) scheme, the district administration has arranged for Army and BSF to provide high level sports training to raise the sports level of the players. The services of coaches have been taken and they will be provided with all the other facilities with which national and international level players can be prepared. An international level astroturf hockey ground has been made for the players at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium in the district. By proper use of which, the players will gain fame at the national and international level. Apart from this, soon after the synthetic track is ready, the players of Ferozepur will be made available for training in some time. Considering the difficulty in training the players, coaches of various sports have also been deployed so that the players do not have to face any difficulty.
On this occasion, MLA Ferozepur Urban Ranbir Singh Bhullar, MLA Ferozepur Rural Rajnish Dahiya, MLA Guruharshay Fauja Singh Sarari, MLA Zira Naresh Kataria, S.S.P. Somya Mishra, Chairman District Planning Committee Chand Singh Gill, District President Aam Aadmi Party Malkit Singh Thind, Secretary Red Cross Ashok Bahl were also present.
