30 September 2026 Punjab Khabarnama Bureau : India made a strong start to the latest Asian Games action as its women’s compound archery team won gold, defeating China 238-234 in the final and matching the existing world-record score.
The Indian trio of Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Prithika Pradeep and Chikita Taniparthi produced a composed performance under pressure to successfully defend India’s women’s compound team title. The victory also took India’s gold-medal tally to seven at the Games.
India Matches World Record
India’s winning score of 238 equalled the existing world record in the women’s compound team event.
The performance underlined the consistency of India’s compound archers, with Jyothi Surekha Vennam leading the experienced trio alongside Prithika Pradeep and Chikita Taniparthi.

India also remained involved in other compound archery medal events, with the men’s and mixed teams competing in the knockout stages.
