8 September 2026 Punjab Khabarnama Bureau : The BCCI has revised India’s Under-19 squads for the upcoming home series against Australia U19, naming Aryan Savsani and Tanmay Baloda as replacements for Bengal leg-spinner Rohit Yadav.
Savsani, from the Saurashtra Cricket Association, has been added to the One-Day squad, while Haryana’s Tanmay Baloda will replace Rohit in the Multi-Day squad.
Rohit Yadav Withdrawn Over Age Discrepancies
Rohit was originally selected for both India U19 squads for the Australia series.
The BCCI said he has now been withdrawn because of discrepancies in his age-related records. The board’s latest official release did not provide further details about the disciplinary action.
However, multiple reports say Rohit has been handed a two-year ban following an investigation into discrepancies in his birth records. Reports said the irregularities were identified during documentation checks by the Cricket Association of Bengal.
Savsani Gets One-Day Opportunity
Aryan Savsani will now join the India U19 One-Day squad for the three-match series against Australia.
The Saurashtra player replaces Rohit in the 15-member squad led by Lakshya Raichandani, with Yashbardhan Chauhan serving as vice-captain.
The updated One-Day squad also includes Aaryavir Sehwag and Anvay Dravid, sons of former India captains Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid respectively.
Baloda Added to Multi-Day Squad
Haryana Cricket Association’s Tanmay Baloda has been selected for the Multi-Day fixtures.
The longer-format squad will be captained by Yashbardhan Chauhan, with Lakshya Raichandani as his deputy.
Australia U19 Series Schedule
The India U19 home series against Australia will feature three One-Day matches and two Multi-Day fixtures.
The One-Day games are scheduled in Rajkot on September 18, 21 and 23. The first Multi-Day match will also be played in Rajkot from September 27 to 30, while the second is scheduled in Ahmedabad from October 5 to 8.
Rohit Had Featured in Sri Lanka Tour
Rohit was part of India’s Under-19 tour of Sri Lanka in July and had impressed in the four-day matches.
The leg-spinner claimed six wickets in the two-match Youth Test series, making his subsequent withdrawal from the Australia squads a significant change to India’s plans.

The Multi-Day squad includes Yashbardhan Chauhan (C), Lakshya Raichandani (VC), Sagar Virk, Kushagra Ojha, Manal Chauhan, Kush Patel, Manav Krishna, Abhipray Biswas, Ishan Om, Ayaan Akram, Pranav Ragavendra, Priyanshu Singh, Mohit Ulva, Aryan Yadav and Tanmay Baloda.
A Setback for Rohit
Rohit’s removal comes after he had recently represented India at the junior level and been selected for another international assignment.
The reported two-year ban is a significant setback to his cricketing career, although the BCCI’s latest statement formally cites age discrepancies as the reason for his withdrawal.
