12 December 2025 Punjab Khabarnama Bureau :Senior Congress leader and former Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil passed away at his home town Latur in Maharashtra on Friday.

He was a former Speaker of the Lok Sabha and held key portfolios in the Union cabinet.

Patil, 90, passed away at his residence after a brief illness, family sources said.

Patil had won the Latur Lok Sabha seat seven times.

He was the governor of Punjab and Administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh from 2010 to 2015.
