Rupnagar, 16 July 2025 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau) : To mark the 78th anniversary of India’s Independence, the district-level Independence Day celebration will be held on August 15 at Nehru Stadium, Rupnagar. In preparation for this national event, Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar, Mr. Varjit Walia, held a meeting today with senior officials from various departments at the District Administrative Complex, Rupnagar.
Chairing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed the officials to carry out their duties with full dedication and sincerity to celebrate this occasion of national significance with patriotic spirit.
He discussed the cultural programs to be organized during the event and emphasized that special attention should be given to time management for all performances. He also instructed that during every rehearsal, considering the hot weather, proper arrangements for drinking water and medical assistance for the students must be ensured.
Present at the meeting were Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Chandarjyoti Singh, Chief Minister Field Officer Abhimanyu Malik (IAS, Under Training), RTO Gurvinder Singh Johal, Assistant Commissioner (General) Arvinderpal Singh Somal, SDM Rupnagar Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, District Development and Panchayat Officer Baljinder Singh Grewal, District Revenue Officer Badaldin, along with senior officials from various departments.
