Malerkotla, 14 July 2025 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau) : To make Punjab drug-free, the state government has launched the “War Against Drugs” campaign aimed at raising awareness among the general public. Continuing this initiative, anti-drug awareness camps will be organized across Malerkotla district starting July 15, informed Deputy Commissioner Viraj S. Tidke.
He stated that the main objective of these camps is to spread awareness against drugs, create a drug-free society, and protect the young generation from drug addiction. He appealed to the public to raise their voice against drugs at the level of their homes, streets, neighborhoods, villages, and cities, and to turn this anti-drug movement into a mass campaign reaching every village and ward, so that Punjab can once again become the vibrant state it once was.
Sharing the area-wise schedule for the “War Against Drugs” camps, the Deputy Commissioner said:
On July 15, camps will be held at the community halls in Pakka Darwaza Jamalpura and Qila Ground in Malerkotla.
On July 16, at Kali Mata Mandir and Labour Shed.
On July 17, at the community hall in Kacha Kot and Kamboj School.
On July 18, at the community halls in Baloke Basti and Madina Basti.
On July 22, at the community hall in Mohalla Pathran Wala and 786 Chowk.

In Ahmedgarh, camps will be held on July 23 at Dr. Ambedkar Dharamshala, Agarwal Dharamshala (Yash Painter Street), and Guru Ravidas Dharamshala near Goel Hospital, and on July 25 at Vishwakarma Mandir (Chand Cinema Road), near Bhagat Singh Chowk (Jain School), and Jain Samadh (Kundan Lal Road).
In Amargarh, a camp will be organized on July 24 at the Nagar Panchayat Office, encouraging people to support the district administration’s efforts against the menace of drugs.
