Gurdaspur, March 22 (Punjab khabarnama) : Vishesh Sarangal, a 2013 batch IAS officer, on Friday assumed office as the Deputy Commissioner of Gurdaspur district. With a proven track record and a commitment to public service, Sarangal outlined his priorities, setting the tone for his tenure in the district. 

Foremost among his objectives is the seamless organization of the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. Emphasizing the principles of fairness and transparency, Mr. Sarangal pledged to ensure a level playing field for all political parties and candidates. He underscored the importance of adhering to the model code of conduct, promising strict enforcement of code to maintain the integrity of the electoral process. Additionally, he vowed to maintain law and order during the elections, preempting any attempts to disrupt peace, and vowed to combat the influence of money and muscle power, aligning with the vision of the Election Commission of India. 

In his interactions with officials from various departments, Sarangal gained insights into the district’s administrative landscape, laying the groundwork for effective governance. He stressed the significance of addressing citizens’ grievances promptly, prioritizing their welfare and concerns. 

Mr. Sarangal brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously served as Deputy Commissioner in SBS Nagar, Kapurthala, and Jalandhar. His tenure in these districts has been marked by initiatives aimed at promoting development and enhancing the quality of life for residents. 

The Deputy Commissioner further lay stress on inclusive growth and responsive governance. As he assumes his responsibilities, the district looks forward to a period of further progress and prosperity under his stewardship.
