Fatehgarh Sahib, April 09 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau): The Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has been continuously committed for the past three years to providing the best infrastructure and quality education in government schools across the state. Thanks to the historic decisions made by the Punjab government in the field of education, people are now withdrawing their children from private schools and enrolling them in government schools. This was stated by MLA Lakhbir Singh Rai while inaugurating development works worth over ₹30 lakh at three schools in his constituency.
MLA Rai inaugurated the newly constructed science lab and major repairs at Government High School Rajindargarh, completed at a cost of ₹16,29,400; the boundary wall at Government Middle School Bhaini Kalan, built at a cost of ₹3,60,000; and new classrooms and a boundary wall at Government Primary School Kheri Bhai Ki, built at a cost of ₹10,11,000.
MLA Rai mentioned that the Punjab government has launched the Punjab Education Revolution Mission to further enhance government schools, under which all essential facilities are being provided in schools. He said that previous governments completely neglected education and healthcare, but the Aam Aadmi Party government has made these two sectors the main pillars of development. As a result, today Punjab’s government schools are surpassing private schools in terms of education quality and available facilities. He added that in the past three years, a large number of students have left private schools to enroll in government schools.
He further noted that special attention is being given to implementing a modern education system, improving the teaching styles of school teachers through educational tours abroad, providing Wi-Fi facilities, building boundary walls around schools, appointing security guards, constructing new classrooms, ensuring clean toilets for students, sports grounds, clean drinking water, regular recruitment of teachers, and fulfilling every essential requirement.
Appealing to parents and teachers, the MLA encouraged them to engage more children and youth in sports activities, so that the government’s anti-drug campaign can achieve its goal of making Punjab drug-free. He also said that they are confident that in the near future, government schools will surpass private schools in every aspect. He emphasized that the Punjab government is committed to ensuring that students do not waste their time, as education plays a crucial role in guiding and securing the future of children and youth.
On this occasion, District Education Officer (Secondary) Sushil Nath, Deputy District Education Officer Didar Singh Mangat, Jagjeet Singh Chohalti Kheri, Amarjeet Singh Dubhali, Bikar Singh Rajindargarh, Happy (Sarpanch Bhaini Kalan), office secretary Bahadur Khan, Harmesh Poonia, and Prahlad Singh were present, along with a large number of students’ parents, teachers, and local dignitaries.
