Chandigarh, January 4, 2025 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau): A tragic incident occurred when a van carrying 22 farmers heading to the Tohana Mahapanchayat met with an accident on the highway, resulting in several farmers getting injured. The incident took place when the van collided with a divider along the roadside. It is believed that heavy fog in the area and low visibility caused the accident.
The farmers were all members of the Bharati Kisan Union Ekta Ugraha faction from Bathinda. Seven passengers sustained injuries in the accident, and local authorities reached the scene immediately to provide assistance and medical care. Fortunately, there were no reports of any fatalities.
The cause of the accident is believed to be dense fog, which reduced visibility and caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The injured farmers were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, and their condition is currently stable. Authorities are investigating the incident.
