Barnala, December 19: Under the guidance of Honorable Deputy Commissioner Poonamdeep Kaur, inspections of school buses were carried out by Shri Gurveer Singh Kohli, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, and Shri Kulwinder Singh Randhawa, District Program Officer, Barnala, to ensure strict compliance with the Honorable High Court’s orders for the safety of schoolchildren.
During the inspection, school buses of institutions such as Mother Teacher International School, VVM International School, Baba Gandhi Public School Barnala, and several others were checked. District Program Officer Kulwinder Singh Randhawa stated that their team regularly informs school principals and drivers about the Safe School Vehicle Policy guidelines. Key measures include CCTV cameras, iron grills on windows, first aid boxes, female conductors, fire extinguishers, and proper licensing.
From the office of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Superintendent Kamaljeet Singh Shad, District Child Protection Officer Gurjeet Kaur, Rupinder Singh (Child Protection Officer In-Charge), Barjinderpal Singh (Deputy District Education Officer), and Neeraj Kumar Singla (District Coordinator) informed drivers to prioritize children’s safety and adhere to the policy’s regulations promptly.
The District Child Protection Unit team included Shri Lakha Singh, Shri Balwinder Singh, and District Transport Officer SI Randhir Singh (Traffic In-charge), ASI Gurcharan Singh, ASI Sukhdev Singh, Havaldar Balveer Singh, and Havaldar Jagtar Singh.
