“Where is provision for MSP for farmers which you promised before coming to power,” JAKHAR asks BHAGWANT MANN
“Budget 2 lakh crore de paar te karza 4 lakh crore de paar”: JAKHAR terms budget a redundant exercise just like creating “schools of eminence” in thin air
Chandigarh, March 5 : Slamming the Punjab Budget presented today as yet another stab in the back of our farming community, the Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar said it had once again failed to address concerns of farmers on much-needed issue of crop diversification, ground water conservation and income support.
It is the 3rd year and it is evident that this government has no solution for farmers, and neither did this government have the gumption to fulfil what Bhagwant Mann had promised to farmers while seeking their votes, Jakhar said.
Where is CM’s conscience when he misleads and instigates Punjab’s youngsters to die at the border for a demand which is not even our own, Jakhar said while asking CM to come clean on his promise to give MSP to farmers as he had promised while seeking votes in 2022
Coming down heavily on AAP government for pushing Punjab towards financial calamity, Jakhar said a budget of 2 Lakh Crore with an overall debt inching towards 4 lakh crore tells you of the kind of future this government has envisioned for Punjabis.
“Budget 2 lakh Crore de paar te karza 4 lakh crore de paar”, Jakhar quipped while summing up the essence of Budget.
Reiterating that this government has been raising mind-boggling debt on Punjabis in the name of so-called development, the State BJP President said this regime has done nothing for crop diversification and the budget presented today was once again a disappointment.
“There is no roadmap for any sector including Industry sector and it is just a concoction of lies, hollow promises and propaganda in the name of ‘historic’ development, a pet word of this regime to hide their colossal failures on every front,” Jakhar said.
On fund allocation for Industry, Jakhar said meagre allocation of funds for industry sector is not only inadequate for ensuring a revival of the crucial sector but also would not lead to employment generation as needed.
Moreover, where is the plan for Urban development and upkeep of city infrastructure. No substantial funds have been earmarked for this purpose either, Jakhar said adding that even the funds and schemes mentioned for Education are only slogans to transform one type of school into another, that too on paper.
