Mumbai November 29, 2024 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau) – The central government has taken a big step to prevent cyber crime in the country. More than 6.69 lakh fake SIM cards and 1.32 lakh International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) numbers reported by police officials have been blocked till November 15, 2024. This information was given in the Rajya Sabha.

The Minister of State for Home Affairs said that the Central Government and Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) have developed a new system which will identify and block fake international calls coming from India. He said that through this system, spoofed calls of cyber criminals doing fake digital arrest, FedEx scam and other frauds will also be blocked.

Apart from this, Citizen Financial Cyber ​​Fraud Reporting and Management System was launched under I4C in 2021, so that the reporting of financial fraud can be dealt with with immediate effect.
