The Punjab State Child Rights Protection Commission has issued a strict notice regarding private schools not adhering to the Education Department’s orders on school opening times during the summer and winter seasons. Commission Chairman Kanwardeep Singh stated that several private schools violate the Education Department’s guidelines by opening schools before the prescribed time, which could endanger children’s safety, especially during foggy and cold weather. Recently, there have been incidents involving school buses, putting children’s lives at risk.

Taking note of this issue, the Commission has directed the School Education Department to take strict action against any private school that violates government orders. He mentioned that if a school fails to comply with the government directives and an accident occurs, the responsibility will fall on the principal and management of the respective school. In this regard, the Commission has instructed all District Education Officers, Child Protection Officers, and the Police Department to take immediate action to ensure compliance with government orders in schools.
