Amidst the voting and results of the US Presidential election, the Sensex is trading at a level of 80,421 with a gain of more than 940 points today i.e. on November 6. Nifty is also up by 275 points, it is trading at a level of 24,488.

Out of the 30 Sensex stocks, 22 are up and 8 are down. Out of the 50 Nifty stocks, 43 are up and 7 are down. All the sectoral indices of NSE are trading with gains.

Asian markets also rose

  • In the Asian market, Japan’s Nikkei is up by 2.25%. Korea’s Kospi is up by 0.013% and China’s Shanghai Composite is up by 0.29%.
  • On November 5, the US Dow Jones closed up 1.02% at 42,221 and the S&P 500 closed up 1.23% at 5,782. The Nasdaq closed up 1.43% at 18,439.
  • According to NSE data, foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth ₹2,569.41 crore on November 5. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) bought shares worth ₹3,030.96 crore.

The market had recovered 1,180 points from yesterday’s low

Earlier yesterday, on November 5, the Sensex had recovered 1,180 points from the day’s low of 78,296. After the day’s trading, it closed at 79,476 with a gain of 694 points.

Nifty also recovered 371 points from the day’s low of 23,842. It closed at 24,213 with a gain of 217 points. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 21 rose and 9 fell. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 39 rose and 11 fell. NSE’s metal sector saw the highest gain of 2.84%.
