An important meeting was held in Chandigarh regarding the demands of the farmers sitting on the Shambhu border of Punjab and Haryana. A meeting was held at Haryana Niwas in Chandigarh on Monday to consider the demands of the farmers sitting on the road since February. The meeting was chaired by former judge Nawab Singh, chairman of the committee constituted by the Supreme Court. During this, the head of the farmer movement Sarwan Singh Pandher did not attend, but many leaders of the Dallewal group were present. It was told that Pandher had already refused to come to the meeting, but Jagjit Singh Dallewal could not attend the meeting due to his poor health. In the meeting, the farmer leaders once again submitted 12-point demands to the central government and said that their struggle will continue until their demands are met.
He clearly said that his plan to march to Delhi is still intact. According to sources, farmer leader Dallewal has announced to start a hunger strike during the upcoming Lok Sabha session. Haryana DGP Shatrujit Kapoor, Home Secretary Renu Fuliya, Ambala Range IG Sibas Kaviraj, Ambala SP Surinder Bhauria, Punjab Home Secretary Gurkirat Kripal Singh, DGP Gaurav Yadav and many officials of both the states were present in the meeting with farmer organizations.
If farmers cooperate, the government will agree to open the border
In the meeting, Haryana government officials said that they are ready to open the border, but the farmer leaders will have to back off from going to Delhi. Farmer leaders outright rejected the Haryana government’s statement. Farmers said that if their demands are not met and the border is not opened, they will march to Delhi. In the meeting, Punjab government officials asked the central government to mediate as before. In fact, before the Lok Sabha elections, farmer organizations had several rounds of talks with the Union Agriculture Minister, but the matter could not be resolved. In this way, after the NDA government came to power for the third time in the Lok Sabha elections, the matter has changed with the formation of BJP government in Haryana for the third time.
