Due to this, the number of patients of breathing, asthma, cold, cough and chest diseases starts increasing. While this related advisory has been issued for the people of entire Punjab, District Civil Surgeon Mansa Dr. Ranjit Singh has also issued an advisory regarding this and appealed to the people to avoid pollution. He said that the situation worsens due to stubble burning and festivals. The deteriorating air quality index increases the rate of disease and death among the people who come in contact with it.
Especially the vulnerable population like children, pregnant women, women, elderly people suffering from respiratory diseases for a long time. The Civil Surgeon has appealed to the people to avoid going out for a walk in the morning and late evening on days of bad to severe air pollution.
