Delhi Chief Minister Atishi arrived in Chandigarh late last night on a personal visit.
Sources in AAP told The Tribune that she was here to visit her family members.
However, since she is in the city, some ministers and AAP leaders were expected to meet her during the day to apprise her of the latest situation in Punjab.
While Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has to reach Nangal along with a few other ministers around noon for the mega parent-teacher meeting, it is learnt that the Delhi CM, who is among the tallest leaders in the party, would be apprised by the AAP leadership and ministers here on the issues of paddy procurement, stubble burning and the state of finances in Punjab.
Since tardy paddy procurement is becoming a big challenge in the agrarian state, with majority of rice millers not willing to mill PR126 and hybrid paddy into rice, the issue would be discussed with her, said party sources. Atishi, having handled Finance Department in the Delhi Government, is also expected to be apprised of the “depleting fiscal health” of the state.
