30 september 2024 :Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday for his “distasteful and disgraceful” remarks made during a speech in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir, where Kharge fell ill. Despite his condition, Kharge continued his speech, declaring he would not die until Prime Minister Narendra Modi was ousted from power.

Shah expressed his disapproval on X, stating, “Yesterday [Sunday], Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge Ji surpassed himself, his leaders, and his party with an utterly distasteful and disgraceful speech. In a spiteful display, he dragged PM Modi into his personal health matters by claiming he would die only after Modi is removed from power.”

Shah noted that this reflects the deep-seated fear and hatred the Congress party has towards Modi, as they seem preoccupied with him. He also extended well wishes for Kharge’s health, saying, “As for Mr. Kharge Ji’s health, Modi Ji prays, I pray, and we all pray that he lives a long, healthy life. May he continue to live for many years and witness the creation of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.”

On Sunday, Modi reached out to Kharge to check on his well-being after the Congress leader received medical attention. In response, Kharge stated, “I am 83 years old. I am not going to die so early. I will stay alive until PM Modi is removed from power. I wanted to talk, but due to dizziness, I had to sit down.”
