25 september 2024: After returning from the United States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kick off his election campaign on Wednesday, September 25, in Sonipat, Haryana, ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections.
In a post on the social media platform X, Modi expressed confidence that the people of Haryana are determined to give the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) a significant victory. He stated, “Haryana has made up its mind to ensure a landslide victory for the BJP in the assembly elections. In this atmosphere of enthusiasm and excitement in the celebration of democracy, we will have the good fortune of receiving the blessings of the people at the rally in Sonipat tomorrow at 12 noon.” Senior BJP leaders, including Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, will join him on stage, and three helipads have been prepared near the rally site for his arrival and departure.
On the other hand, Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi will hold two election rallies in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. Upon arriving in Jammu city, he will meet with a group of professionals at the Radisson hotel. He is then scheduled to address an election rally at J&K Resort ground around 12:30 PM.
Gandhi’s second meeting will take place in Sopore, Baramulla district, at the government higher secondary school ground in Dangarpora around 3:25 PM. Earlier, he addressed a rally in Srinagar, which a party leader described as the “first major gathering in the Valley for the party in 37 years,” signifying a “new dawn” for Congress. He criticized the current administration, claiming that ‘outsiders’ are governing the union territory through an appointed ‘king.’ Gandhi reiterated the party’s demand for the restoration of statehood to J&K and pledged to raise local issues in Parliament.
