Distributed agricultural literature and summer vegetable kits to farmers
Nawanshahr, 13 February 2024 (Punjab khabarnama) : Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Langaroa, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar organized a two-day training camp on ‘Natural Farming’ at village Birowal. This information Assistant Professor Dr. Aarti Verma gave He said that 40 farmers and farmer wives participated in this training.
Assistant Professor (Vegetable Science), Dr. Aarti Verma said that on the first day of the training, K. Also K. Informed about the activities being done related to natural farming. During the training Assistant Professor (Entomology), Dr. Baljit Singh shed light on the importance of ‘natural farming’ and also shared information about the prevention of pests and diseases through natural methods.
On the second day of the training, Krishi Science Center Assistant Professor (Vegetable Science), Dr. Aarti Verma explained about the important points and aspects of natural farming. He also shared information with the farmers about the nutritional value of fruits and vegetables produced through organic farming and also told about the successful cultivation of winter vegetables and mushrooms. Krishi Science Center Assistant Professor (Agricultural Engineering), Dr. Kirandeep encouraged adoption of processing for value addition of farm produce and Program Assistant, Mrs. Renu informed about the importance of Self Help Groups and Farmer Producer Organizations.
Dr. Aarti also showed the students how to prepare natural pesticides such as Jiva Amrit, Bees Amrit, and Brahm Astra to protect crops from diseases. On this occasion, agricultural literature of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana and summer vegetable kits were also provided to the learners. Sarpanch Kulbir Kor and farmers of village Birowal were present on this occasion.
