On Sunday, during the Chess Olympiad in Budapest, India achieved notable victories in the fifth round. The men’s team triumphed over Azerbaijan with a 3-1 score, while the women’s team overcame Kazakhstan with a 2.5-1.5 win.

In the women’s matches, R Vaishali secured a crucial win on the second board against Meruert Kamalidenova. Divya Deshmukh drew with Xeniya Balabayava on the third board, marking her first draw after four consecutive wins. Vantika Agarwal also contributed to the win by defeating Alua Nurman on the fourth board.
