10 september 2024 : Lucy-Bleu Knight, Slash’s stepdaughter, tragically took her own life on July 19, at the age of 25. The Los Angeles Medical Examiner confirmed that Knight’s death was caused by hydrogen sulfide toxicity, and her manner of death was ruled a suicide.
According to the official report, Knight had left suicide notes for her loved ones and had a history of undiagnosed mental illness, including paranoia and hallucinations. The toxicology results also showed the presence of thiosulfate in her system.
Knight was discovered in the bathroom of an Airbnb rental where she had checked in on July 15. The property manager, unable to reach her, called emergency services after encountering resistance when trying to open the door. When police arrived, they found a hand-written warning about toxic gas and a chemical odor.
The LA Fire Department’s Hazmat Unit later confirmed that Knight had used a cooler to mix a lethal concoction of chemicals, including cerium hydroxide, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and sodium thiosulfate. She had sealed the room’s light fixtures, electrical outlets, ceiling vents, and other openings with plastic and tape. Pills for mental health treatment were also found in her possession.
The report noted that Knight had previously been hospitalized for mental health evaluations but had no formal diagnosis. Despite not having previous suicide attempts, she had expressed suicidal thoughts.
