5 september 2024 : India’s textile industry is projected to expand to $350 billion by 2030, creating 35 million jobs, according to Union Minister of Textiles, Giriraj Singh. Speaking at the ‘Bharat Tex 2025’ event in New Delhi, Singh expressed optimism about India’s global recognition for its ‘Bharat’ brand and eco-friendly textile products.
He highlighted that the Union Government’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for textiles will enhance production, strengthen branding, and attract foreign direct investment (FDI). Singh also noted that India’s demographic advantage will drive growth, positioning the country ahead of China. He urged state governments to actively participate in this initiative, aligning with the Prime Minister’s 5F vision: Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign.
