15 august 2024 :Superstar Mammootty asserts, “There is no role that I haven’t taken on,” in the captivating teaser for his eagerly awaited film Bazooka. Released by the production team on Thursday, the teaser radiates a neo-noir atmosphere, featuring Mammootty as a suave agent on a mission to eliminate a nefarious masked criminal, thereby engaging in the eternal struggle between good and evil.
The teaser begins with Gautham Vasudev Menon’s character, a police officer, deceiving his superiors while his team mercilessly confronts criminals on the streets. He is also depicted shooting down offenders. The narration by Babu Antony, who portrays the villain, then takes center stage as he states, “It’s a game that starts with one and ends with a hundred. A game between good and bad.” The imagery reveals a figure in a black overcoat entering a football stadium, accompanied by ominous music.
Mammootty makes a striking entrance, seated serenely in a room as a computer assistant rouses him, advising him to prepare and wear a tuxedo for his assignment. The scene transitions to Mammootty emerging from a classic car, exuding charm in a black tuxedo, with his luxurious hair elegantly styled in a bun. With a prominent mustache and beard, Mammootty radiates a powerful, magnetic presence as a foreboding voice in the background ominously states, “We are screwed.” The teaser culminates with Gautham Vasudev Menon inquiring about Mammootty’s role, to which the actor confidently replies, “There is no role that I haven’t taken on,” reflecting his extensive body of work.
Talking about the film, Mammootty earlier told PTI, “It is nice to come across a script that takes you by surprise and grabs your interest instantly. Bazooka is an action film but it is also a game of wits and has strong, well-etched characters. I am looking forward to the filming process because I know my character will take me on a very interesting journey.”
Bazooka is helmed by debutant filmmaker Deeno Dennis, son of veteran scriptwriter Kaloor Dennis. The film also stars Divya Pillai, Shine Tom Chacko, Sharaf U Dheen, Jagadish, and Sunny Wayne in key roles. The film’s music is composed by Midhun Mukundan.
Bazooka is jointly bankrolled by Jinu Abraham and Siddharth Anand Kumar under the banners of Theatre of Dreams and Yoodlee Films, the movie studio arm of Saregama India Limited.
