14 august 2024 : Gurucharan Singh, renowned for his portrayal of Roshan Sodhi in the popular television sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, departed from the series in 2020. Recently, however, reports have emerged suggesting that Gurucharan is seeking to return to his former role. Following his exit, the character of Roshan Sodhi was assumed by Balvinder Singh Suri. A recent report indicates that Gurucharan requested the show’s producer, Asit Kumarr Modi, to dismiss Suri from the position, but his request was declined.
According to a source cited by News18, “Gurucharan expressed his desire to return to TMKOC and urged Asit to terminate Suri’s contract. However, this is not the standard procedure. Asit had no justification to abruptly remove Balvinder, and he firmly rejected Gurucharan’s request.” The source further noted that Gurucharan had a reputation for being “unprofessional.” Additionally, they asserted that, contrary to Gurucharan’s claim of being dismissed without prior notice in 2012, he was actually provided with a four-month notice period. The actor had previously stated that he learned of his termination while watching an episode of the show.
