Chandigarh , July 11– Cricket player Mr. Yuzvendra Chahal (born 23 July 1990), who was a member of the T- 20 Cricket World Cup winning team , met Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh here in Gurugram today . On this occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated the cricketer on winning the T- 20 World Cup and wished him all the best for the future.
The Chief Minister honoured the cricket player at the PWD Rest House in Gurugram today by presenting him a memento and a shawl of honour and gave his blessings. The Chief Minister also presented a medal to the player Yuzvendra Chahal and expressed his happiness and said that he should continue to bring glory to Haryana in the country and abroad.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that a felicitation ceremony will soon be organized for the Paralympic players and other sportspersons and in this program, the players who have brought glory to Haryana will be felicitated. He said that Haryana is the land of sportspersons and in international sports, the players of Haryana usually display their talent in the best way and play an important role in bringing glory to the country worldwide. Expressing happiness, the Chief Minister said in the Haryanavi dialect that ” without Haryana, no flag could be hoisted in any sport ” .
During this, while talking to the Chief Minister, cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal informed that he bowls in cricket and has been playing cricket for the last several years. The Chief Minister was told that Yuzvendra Chahal’s family is from Jind but has been living in Gurugram for the last four years. During this, the Chief Minister was also shown the video of Yuzvendra Chahal’s meeting with the Prime Minister.
During this meeting, cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal’s father Shri Krishna Kumar Chahal also interacted with the Chief Minister and shared information about his and Yuzvendra Chahal’s achievements in life. Shri Krishna Kumar Chahal said that he is feeling very proud today that his son has been honoured by the Chief Minister. Yuzvendra Chahal’s mother Smt. Sunita Kumari Chahal was also present on this occasion and she said that she is feeling very good today because the Chief Minister has worked to increase her and her son’s honour. On this occasion, WSO Chairman Piyush Sachdeva, who accompanied cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, was also present.
It is noteworthy that during this meeting, the officials present told the Chief Minister that Yuzvendra Chahal is the only player to represent India in both chess and cricket. He has represented India in chess in the World Youth Chess Championship. Yuzvendra Chahal plays for the Indian cricket team as a leg spin bowler.
