New Delhi, March 17 2026 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau) Shiromani Akali Dal Delhi unit chief S. Paramjit Singh Sarna urged the Sikh qaum to refrain from sharing or amplifying AI-generated videos depicting Sri Darbar Sahib, even inadvertently.
He noted that after speaking with Harmeet Shah Singh, a member of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee’s designated A.I. sub-committee, and someone who has closely studied the implications of artificial intelligence, the risks are clear. Such content, he said, demands restraint and responsibility from the Panth, not circulation.
Sarna emphasised that the sanctity of Sri Darbar Sahib cannot be left vulnerable to distortion, however subtle or unintended.
In a rapidly shifting digital landscape, even casual sharing can contribute to normalising misrepresentation. He added that the community must adopt a more considered approach to emerging technologies, recognising that the consequences extend beyond synthetic videos.
Discernment, he said, will be essential in ensuring that reverence is not compromised in the rush to engage with new tools.
