09 December 2025 Punjab Khabarnama Bureau : Punjab Congress president Amrinder Raja Warring on Monday said indiscipline in the party won’t be tolerated.
He said this breaking his silence over the suspension of Navjot Kaur Sidhu from the party, a day after she claimed that one required a “suitcase of Rs 500 crore” to become the Chief Minister of Punjab.
Warring said she had been suspended for indiscipline and causing damage to the party’s image by her statement. “She made baseless allegations against party leaders,” Warring said.
Though he refused to reply to the allegations that the party’s Tarn Taran Assembly bypoll candidate Karanbir Burj paid money to Congress leaders to get the ticket, he said Burj had issued a statement contradicting the reports. Sidhu, in an interview to a TV channel, had alleged that Burj paid money to two top Punjab Congress leaders to get the ticket.
Joining the issue, senior party leader Parminder Pal Singh Pinki said the suspension of Sidhu was overdue and her utterances were against the Congress culture
