Patti,6 Aug 2025 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau): Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is constructing sports grounds to protect youth from drug abuse and to encourage them towards sports. As part of this initiative, Cabinet Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar visited the new sports ground being built on Sarhali Road in village Burj Raike of constituency Patti. The ground is being developed on 9 acres of land at a cost of ₹2.25 crore.
On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar informed the media that he reviewed the ongoing development work at the new sports ground being built on Sarhali Road in Burj Raike. The ground, being constructed at a cost of ₹2.25 crore, will include a 400-meter running track for children, an open gym, swimming pool, athletics track, football ground, javelin and discus throw area, basketball court, indoor gym, volleyball court, handball ground, badminton court, kabaddi ground, and cricket ground — all equipped with ultra-modern technology for various sports.
He said that the residents of the constituency will soon receive a major gift. This ground will provide a good open environment filled with fresh air and oxygen for children to play and for the elderly to walk. It will also benefit around 10 to 15 nearby villages and the city of Patti.
On this occasion, the Minister also appealed to the youth to connect with sports grounds.
