Bathinda,  23 July 2025 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau): Deputy Commissioner Mr. Shaukat Ahmad Pare honored the winning students of the International Abacus Olympiad with cash prizes announced by the organization and also encouraged them to continue working hard in the future.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the students of the district have brought great pride by winning the highest number of awards – 7 in total. Over 10,000 school students had participated in this online competition. He added that a new international record for the fastest paper-solving was also set by district student Arnav Goel.

He stated that Abacus education plays a significant role in the mental development of students, which helps them succeed easily in higher classes and competitive exams. He praised the achievement of the district students for securing 6 first positions among 7 awards, calling it highly commendable. He also congratulated Mr. Ranjeev Goel, Director of Sharp Brains, saying that under his guidance, students have been consistently achieving great success.

On this occasion, Mr. Ranjeev Goel, Director of Sharp Brains Education, shared that students from various Indian states as well as Germany, Finland, Canada, the USA, UK, Australia, Dubai, and the Netherlands participated in the competition. A total of 33 awards were given. Among the winners were 5 students from Rampura Phul, 1 from Bathinda, and 1 from Bhagta Bhai Ka.

In the first term (C category), Arnav Goel, a student of BBS Indo Canadian School Maluka, son of Sanjay Goel of Bhagta, secured first position. He also set a new record for the fastest paper-solving by answering 70 questions correctly in 7 minutes and 5 seconds.

In the third term, Ekamveer Singh Brar, son of Gurmeet Singh, a student of Silver Oaks School Bathinda, secured third position.

In the fourth term, Ravnoor Kaur, daughter of Baljeet Singh, a student of Mount Litera Zee School, Rampura Phul, secured first position.

Navya, daughter of Rakesh Kumar Garg from the same school, secured first position in the fifth term.

In the sixth term, Keshav Garg, son of Engineer Vicky Garg, also from Mount Litera Zee School, Rampura Phul, achieved first position.

In the seventh term, Khushant Mittal, son of Nitesh Mittal, a student of St. Xavier’s School, Rampura Phul, secured first position.

In the eighth term, Naksh Bansal, son of Kuldeep Chand, a student of Global Discovery School, Rampura Phul, secured first position.

On this occasion, Sanjeev Kumar (MD of Champion World), Madam Pooja Goel, Neelam Garg, Vanita Garg, Rekha Singh, and parents of the winning students were present.
