Punjab 19 May 2025 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau): A major decision has come from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regarding the ₹20 notes. According to information received, RBI is going to make significant changes to the ₹20 note soon. In fact, RBI has announced that it will soon introduce a new series of ₹20 notes in the market. Upon hearing this, many people have questions like: What will the new note look like? Will the old notes be discontinued? What is special about RBI’s new note?

According to the information, the new series of ₹20 notes issued by RBI will bear the signature of the new Governor Sanjay Malhotra. The design and features will remain similar to the old ₹20 notes. The new note will have a light green-yellow color and will be the same size as the existing notes. There will be no significant changes in the design of the new ₹20 note. Additionally, the backside of the new note will feature a beautiful image of the ‘Ellora Caves,’ showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage. Earlier, the note had an image of the ‘Sun Temple,’ which will now be replaced.

Furthermore, RBI has clarified that even after the new series of ₹20 notes is introduced, the old notes will remain valid. The RBI has made it clear that all old ₹20 notes will continue to be legal tender. The old notes in circulation will not be withdrawn. People can continue using them without any worry.
