Kotkapura, April 15 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau):– Today, the Speaker of the Punjab Legislative Assembly, Mr. Kultar Singh Sandhwan, inaugurated development works in various schools of the Kotkapura constituency under the Punjab Education Revolution Campaign led by Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann.

During his address on this occasion, Speaker Mr. Kultar Singh Sandhwan said that it is due to the vision of Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann and Mr. Arvind Kejriwal that the standard of government schools in Punjab has risen so much that even government schools now have buses to bring children, just like private schools. He stated that it is a major achievement of the Punjab government that in recent times, 9,000 children have shifted from private schools to government schools to pursue their education.

He further said that today development works worth ₹1.18 crore were dedicated to the public in three schools. He mentioned that government schools equipped with modern facilities now offer even more amenities than private schools. He added that over the past year, 12,316 teachers have been regularized, and 10,487 new teachers have been recruited.

Mr. Sandhwan informed that under the “Punjab Education Revolution,” development projects worth ₹16 lakh were inaugurated at Government Primary School Duwariyana, including construction of a washroom for children with special needs, repair of girls’ bathrooms and boundary wall, a mid-day meal shed, installation of interactive panels, models, and painting work.

At Government Primary and Senior Secondary School, Wandar Jatana, projects worth ₹62 lakh were inaugurated, which included construction of a boundary wall, classrooms, basketball ground, pre-primary rooms, major repairs, and a new boundary wall.

At Government Primary School, Wara Daraka, projects worth ₹40 lakh were inaugurated, which included construction of a school park, repair of boundary walls, a science lab, additional classrooms, flooring repairs, a computer lab, and repairs to boys’ bathrooms.

Present on the occasion were District Education Officer (Secondary Education) Madam Neelam Rani, School Head Karamjeet Singh, Head Teacher Mrs. Shivani Goel, Parvinder Singh Koch (Punjabi Master), Sarpanch Lovekaran Singh, Jaswinder Singh Maur, Mandeep Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Mrs. Usha Rani, Mrs. Aruna Rani, Mr. Gurpreet Singh, Mrs. Neeru Aggarwal, Mr. Nirmal Singh, Mr. Varinderpal Singh, along with a large number of school teachers, villagers, and school students.
