Vishwakarma Scheme

Moga, March 27 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau): The registration process for artisans associated with 18 different trades under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, initiated by the Government of India, is continuously ongoing in Moga district. On Thursday, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Charumita presided over a meeting of the District Implementation Committee via video conferencing. During the meeting, 369 cases were reviewed, and 247 cases were approved and recommended for Stage Three.

The ADC stated that the PM Vishwakarma Scheme has been launched by the Government of India to provide training, toolkits, and loans to artisans working with their hands. Under this scheme, artisans from 18 different trades are eligible for free training and can avail of loans up to ₹3 lakh in two installments.

She directed all Block Development and Panchayat Officers (BDPOs) and Executive Officers (EOs) of Municipal Councils to ensure the prompt processing of pending applications at Stage One under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. Additionally, officials from various departments were instructed to actively promote the scheme for greater awareness and participation.
