Chandigarh 10 march 2025 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau): Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has issued strict orders for action against those violating traffic rules. However, in the Ladhowal area, the police have failed to take strict action against violators, leading to blatant disregard for traffic regulations.
In this area, people are openly driving vehicles without a license, helmet, or valid documents. Despite this, neither the Ladhowal police station nor the traffic department is taking any action. If a police officer attempts to stop someone violating the law, recommendations and pressure from locals of Ladhowal and nearby areas come pouring in over the phone, preventing legal action against the offenders.
Underage boys are seen driving heavy vehicles without a license or proper documents, yet neither the traffic police nor the Ladhowal police station takes any legal action against them. If strict action is not taken against such drivers as per the law, their confidence will only grow, and they will continue to openly violate the law without any fear.
Every day, dozens of people can be seen riding their vehicles at Ladhowal Chowk without a license, helmet, or proper documents. Many even operate makeshift three-wheelers without valid licenses or registration documents, yet no action is being taken by the traffic department. The question arises—why is the traffic department reluctant to take strict action against such violations?
As per the law, no one is allowed to drive a vehicle without a valid license, registration certificate (RC), or helmet. However, in this area, such violations are rampant. Only time will tell whether the Chief Minister’s directives regarding traffic rule violations hold any significance in Ladhowal or not.
Summary: CM’s orders are openly disregarded, showing a lack of concern or fear among officials, raising questions about enforcement and accountability in governance.
