Ludhiana 6 march 2025 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau): The Punjab government has issued an order authorizing the elected representatives of the public to verify various mandatory certificates online.
DC Jatinder Zorwal mentioned that the Punjab government has taken this step to reduce the public’s hassles. Now, sarpanches, numberdars, and councillors have been authorized to verify applications online, so people no longer need to visit them repeatedly.
The DC explained that the most commonly verified certificates by the general public, such as residence, caste certificate, income certificate, EWS certificate, old age pension, etc., will now be processed through online applications sent to these representatives. In rural areas, sarpanches and numberdars will verify these, while in urban areas, councillors will carry out the verification. With the start of this online project, people will no longer need to make repeated visits to their representatives.
