Firozpur, January 29 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau): Today, under the leadership of Om Prakash Rana, State President of the CPF Employees Union Punjab, District President Jagseer Singh Bhangar, and District General Secretary Sonu Kashyap, a strong protest was held in various offices across the district against the central government’s imposition of the U.P.S. Pension Scheme on employees. The protestors burned copies of the Gazette of the scheme in front of the offices.

Since morning, protests were organized in various offices, including the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Firozpur, Tehsil Office, SDM Office, Public Works Department, District Treasury Office, Civil Surgeon’s Office, Punjab Roadways Firozpur Depot, Water Resources Department, Agriculture Department, Public Health Department, and Education Department. The protestors were led by officials such as Sandeep Singh Deol, Jugal Kishore Anand, Munish Kumar, Charanjit Singh, Avtar Singh, Gurpreet Singh Aulakh, Sukhchain Singh, Inderjeet Singh Dhillo, and Varun Kumar.

The protestors strongly opposed the central and state governments’ imposition of the U.P.S. Pension Scheme, burning copies of the Gazette. Additionally, Pipal Singh Sidhu, State General Secretary of the Punjab State Ministerial Services Union, Manohar Lal, District President of the P.S.M.S.Y.U, and Pradeep Vinayak of P.S.M.S.Y.U also attended the protest and issued a warning to both the central and state governments that the scheme should not be implemented in the state under any circumstances.

The leaders stated that if the scheme is so beneficial, the government should first implement it for its own Members of Parliament and legislators. On this occasion, employees from various departments held strong protests in front of their respective offices. The scheme was heavily criticized and condemned by the employees.

Summary: The copies of the gazette for the Uttar Haryana Power (UHP) pension scheme, imposed by the central government, were burned by the accused.
