Fazilka, 23 January 2025  (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau): The Punjab government’s e-Governance department, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has launched three new services at the service centers. These services will directly benefit the public. The new services include applying for a license to start a Stamp Vendor business, obtaining a certificate to declare a building as a Free Fire Armed Zone, and the facility of applying for the e-Shram Card. The Punjab government is continuously expanding services at the service centers to speed up e-Governance.

While sharing this information, the government spokesperson stated that applying for an e-Shram card at the service centers will cost just ₹10, whereas people would have to pay more elsewhere. Additionally, those wishing to start a Stamp Vendor business can apply for a license at the service centers for a fee of ₹710. Furthermore, for buildings, schools, colleges, hospitals, shops, and government offices to be declared as Free Fire Armed Zones, a certificate is required. This can be applied for at the service center for ₹1700 for a five-year term.

District Manager Kunal Gumber stated that continuous efforts are being made to provide better facilities to the people through service centers. He mentioned that there are 21 service centers in the district. Of these, approximately 13 counters fall under the Type One category at the District Administrative Complex. He added that 6 service centers are of Type Two category, with 5 counters at each, and 14 service centers are of Type Three category, with 3 counters at each. He also mentioned that about 435 different types of services are available at these service centers, and in addition, 43 types of services are provided through doorstep services.

He said that new government services are being smoothly provided at the service centers. He also mentioned that people can now update their Aadhaar cards at the service centers, and several services for NRIs have also been added to the service centers.
