Gurdaspur, January 21 – The second rehearsal of the district level Republic Day celebrations to be held on January 26 was held today at Shaheed Lieutenant Navdeep Singh Stadium, Gurdaspur. This rehearsal was inspected by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) S. Harjinder Singh Bedi. During the rehearsal, a spectacular march past was performed by the Punjab Police Jawans, Women Platoon of Punjab Police, Punjab Home Guards, NCC Cadets, Punjab Police Band and Band of School Students. This was followed by Mass PT by students of various schools. . Various shows and programmes full of Punjabi culture and patriotism were presented.

After inspecting the Republic Day rehearsal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Harjinder Singh said that district level Republic Day function would be celebrated with full enthusiasm in Gurdaspur on January 26 in which Cabinet Minister of Punjab Government Mr. Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal would be expected to hoist the National Flag. will perform the ritual.

While reviewing the preparations for the Republic Day celebrations, the Additional Deputy Commissioner directed the officers that every department should complete its duties on time. He said that the District Administration and Punjab Government will take part in the tableaus to be presented on the occasion of Republic Day celebrations. The development being done by the government will be shown and preparations in this regard should also be completed in time. He said that Republic Day is our national festival and it should be celebrated with full enthusiasm.
