Bathinda, January 3, 2025 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau): A cold wave continues in Punjab, increasing incidents due to fog. On Friday morning, a massive collision occurred between a bus and a truck near the village of Jodhpur Rumana in Bathinda, leaving about a dozen people injured.
All the injured have been admitted to the AIIMS and Civil Hospital in Bathinda. The incident is said to have occurred due to the fog, with both drivers unable to see due to low visibility.
No fatalities in the accident
The collision took place between a private company bus filled with passengers and a truck on the Bathinda-Rama Mandi road, which was heavily fogged. Over 20 passengers on the bus were injured and admitted to AIIMS and Civil Hospital in Bathinda for treatment. Fortunately, no one suffered fatal injuries, and the passengers had only minor injuries. The incident is believed to have been caused by the thick fog.
After receiving the information, the police team from the concerned station reached the spot and started the investigation.
Bus severely damaged in the accident
The bus, operated by New Deep Company, was heading from Rama Mandi towards Bathinda. Due to new road construction on the Bathinda-Dabwali road, one side of the road was closed, causing vehicles to travel in one direction. The bus collided head-on with a truck traveling from Bathinda to Dabwali near the village of Gurusar Sainwala due to the dense fog.
The bus was severely damaged in the accident, and more than 20 passengers were injured. They were taken to Bathinda’s AIIMS and Civil Hospital for treatment by 108 Ambulance and Sahara Janseva teams.
It is noteworthy that no passenger sustained serious injuries, and there were no fatalities. Around 12 people are being treated at AIIMS, while nearly 8 are receiving care at the Civil Hospital in Bathinda.
