Barnala, January 2: Thanks to the vision of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to provide services to the people in a timely and hassle-free manner, the Chief Minister’s Assistance Center was established last year. This assistance center at the district level has proved to be a blessing for the residents of Barnala, through which people’s applications are being processed swiftly.
Deputy Commissioner of Barnala, Madam Poonamdeep Kaur, shared that the Chief Minister’s Assistance Center (CM Window) was established in Barnala in June 2024. The main objective of this center is to provide the people with direct access to the Chief Minister’s office from their district, enabling the work related to the state capital Chandigarh to be handled here itself, swiftly and without any inconvenience.
She mentioned that so far, 357 applications have been received at the CM Window in Barnala, of which 317 (88%) have been processed within the stipulated time.
Regarding the types of requests, she mentioned that 114 applications are related to the Home Department, 79 to the Revenue Department, 44 to the Rural Development Department, 6 to the Water Resources Department, 17 to the Local Government Department, 9 to the Electricity Department, 2 to the Agriculture Department, 9 to the Cooperation Department, 5 to the Education Department, 1 related to Elections, 56 to the Food and Civil Supplies Department, 5 to the Health Department, 9 to the Transport Department, and 1 related to Water Supply and Sanitation.
She emphasized that applications at the Assistance Center are processed in a timely manner. At present, only 40 applications remain pending, the majority of which were received recently and have been forwarded to the concerned departments.
The Deputy Commissioner further explained that with the Chief Minister’s Assistance Center, people no longer need to go to Chandigarh for their issues. Their applications are sent through the portal from here itself. Furthermore, work related to the district level is prioritized and marked for the concerned offices, ensuring proper guidance is provided to the people.
