Chandigarh, December 16, 2024 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau): Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh enthralled thousands of fans at his electrifying ‘Dil-Luminati Concert’ on Saturday in Chandigarh. The singer, who has been on a multi-country tour announced on stage that he would not host a concert in India until the government focuses on concert infrastructure across the country.

Diljit took his disappointment live to the stage about the state of concert infrastructure across India. He said while addressing the crowd, “I want to tell the designated authorities that India does not have the infrastructure for live shows. This is a big revenue generating space. It also gives livelihood to many. Please focus on this space as well.”

“I will try to set up a stage in the middle, while the crowd is distributed around it (to improve concert experience). I will not perform shows here until things improve. Instead of troubling artists, improve the infrastructure,” he added.

The much awaited concert of the Punjabi superstar faced quite a lot of hurdles ever since the tickets went on sale. A handful number of tickets were being resold at higher prices. Many people blamed Diljit for this black-market ticket hurdle.

Diljit said that he is disappointed with those questioning him for black-marketing of tickets. Denying any involvement, Diljit said that an artist cannot do anything if tickets are being sold in such a manner.

Even before the event took place, he was served with an advisory from Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights, urging the singer to avoid songs promoting alcohol and violence as it influences the youth negatively. It also laid down the need to keep volume levels under control for the well-being of children. A similar notice from the Telangana Government was also issued to the singer banning him from performing songs promoting alcohol and drugs during his Hyderabad concert.

Summary: Diljit Dosanjh, after his Chandigarh concert, announced he would not hold any more events in India, sparking curiosity among fans.
